From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author JB Salsbury
I knew nothing about this book before starting. As most of you know, going in blind is always my first choice. I saw the cover and knew I wanted to read it,so I didn’t even read the synopsis. If at all possible, I suggest you do the same. But if you just have to know a little ..keep reading for my spoiler free review.
The body and mind are resilient and powerful when forced to endure unimaginable trauma and heart wrenching pain…. Lucas has survived an ordeal no one should ever have to go through and coped the best way he knew how. Now a nomad just looking for a home, a place to fit in, and a place where no one knows who he is and what he’s done, he finds himself in Payson. A small town that offers something Lucas needs, a home and a job to feel as close to normal as he possible can..
With too many bad memories, Shyann is forced to return to Payson with her tail between her legs. A town she was hoping to never set foot in again. When she meets a mysterious man that is timid, shy, and she is magnetically drawn to.
The prologue hooked me! I love a suspenseful beginning that makes you hold your breath and pray for a character you’ve just met. Your heart will instantly fall for Lucas, the more you turn the pages the more in love with him you’ll be. The book is in multiple POV and it’s perfect to see the inner workings of each character and see through their eyes the battles that they face and feel what they feel.
While I did struggle through a lot of the beginning of the book it did captivate me at the 35% (ish) mark. I think my only true issue was with Shyann’s character. She’s a spoiled brat that graded on my nerves. But that’s just her and I completely believe in a character being who they are. But I found that she didn’t have a lot of character consistency till we get closer to the middle of the book where we start to see her grow and come into her own. Towards the middle of the book it didn’t read like a struggle anymore. Almost as if the author was refueled and energized. I’m glad I continued because it was well worth it. It’s a great read that I would totally recommend it.

Back to the beginning.. See how it all started in this quick easy read that you won’t be able to put down.
This is the first time c.c wood has written anything in this era. I am in awe and can’t understand why she hasn’t done this before. I loved this book. While it is a “historical” per say… There isn’t a lot time spent on era descriptions (that I sometimes find SO ANNOYING and over done because in my opinion it takes away from the story) C.C sweeps us away into the past to where it all began….You are consumed with the character and the story right off the bat. I am in LOVE with this book and I really can’t wait to see where it’s going to take us.
Well written & Hooked on yet another series by CC Wood

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is my first book by this author and it most certainly will not be the last. Politically Incorrect is smartly written, witty, engaging, sexy and while it does throw you into the world of politics it isn’t off putting nor will it smother you with too many details. Do not let the political framework of this book keep you from reading it. At it’s core is a sexy, steamy romance between 45 year old DNC consultant, Elizabeth McNeal and her client, 34 year old Texas congressman, William “Liam” Baxter. Their romance is a slow burn filled with witty banter, sexy innuendos and tension so thick you can feel it. I am blown away by McDonald’s writing. She was able to thrust me into a world of politics, which I hate (I mean who LOVES politics?), have me captivated by her every word, rooting for Liam and Liz to finally get together and when they do FINALLY get together, oh my STARS. The lust they harbor for each other gets unleashed and it’s explosive. Gone is the gentlemen Liam has made himself be in public and in his place is a beast hungry for Elizabeth. I envy her. It is a blessed woman who can instill that kind of passion in a man and I LOVE reading about them!! Politically Incorrect is a safe read, there is no cheating involved and ends in a sweet HEA. There is some drama, this is a book revolving around politics after all. I absolutely loved this book and look forward to reading more by this author. If you enjoy a romance built on a slow burn with explosive rewards, this one will hit the spot.

Sex. Lies. Greed. Power. Scandal. Politics.
Political strategist, Elizabeth McNeal has been called a lot of things throughout her career—bitch being at the top of the list—but she doesn’t let it get to her. She’s bold, she’s blunt, and she takes orders from no one. This is how she’s survived working in a man’s world. She’s the master of diversion, and her specialty is winning an election—no matter the cost.
That is, until she meets her new client, Democratic candidate, Congressman William Baxter. Kind, considerate, insanely handsome, honest, and ten years her junior, he’s a unicorn among politicians. He infuriates her. He challenges her. Most of all, he makes her see past the scandalous world of politics and helps her to discover the heart of the woman inside her.
With sparks flying between them and the election rapidly approaching, the last thing either of them need is to be caught in a compromising position. Some lines are meant to be crossed and some rules broken, but for Elizabeth and Liam is it worth the cost of being politically incorrect?

YES!!! A new series by C.C. Wood. I am absolutely in LOVE with her PNR. Her Bitten series is still one of my favorites. I was so excited to read this. CC is a skilled author who can create lovable real characters that you can identify with. They’ll remind you of your best friend, or someone you wish could be….
As you know I hate spoilers in a review. So what I will tell you is that this book has the beginning sparks of a sweet swoon worthy romance, humor that will have you giggling out in public, and mystery that will keep you guessing. I didn’t find a dull moment while reading. I did however find that my cheeks hurt from smiling the whole time! The banter is witty and laugh out loud funny. The story gives us three relatable strong female character and three male characters that you will absolutely LOVE. They are each good looking and charismatic fun guys that will steal you heart. (like read this quick and claim your hottie before your book bitch tries to swoop in and take him from you!)
Don’t Wake the Dead is the first book in The Wraith files. I’ve come to realize that in a series by CC, each book blows me away more than the last! If the amazing epilogue is any indication, we are in for one hell of an amazing ride in the Wraith Files!
I . CAN . NOT . WAIT for the next installment, I’ll be picking up the next book in a heartbeat! And may or may not hassle her until it is delivered to my kindle
