Just Another Book Bitch Guest Reviewer, Nicole Johnson
Politically Incorrect by Jeanne McDonald
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is my first book by this author and it most certainly will not be the last. Politically Incorrect is smartly written, witty, engaging, sexy and while it does throw you into the world of politics it isn’t off putting nor will it smother you with too many details. Do not let the political framework of this book keep you from reading it. At it’s core is a sexy, steamy romance between 45 year old DNC consultant, Elizabeth McNeal and her client, 34 year old Texas congressman, William “Liam” Baxter. Their romance is a slow burn filled with witty banter, sexy innuendos and tension so thick you can feel it. I am blown away by McDonald’s writing. She was able to thrust me into a world of politics, which I hate (I mean who LOVES politics?), have me captivated by her every word, rooting for Liam and Liz to finally get together and when they do FINALLY get together, oh my STARS. The lust they harbor for each other gets unleashed and it’s explosive. Gone is the gentlemen Liam has made himself be in public and in his place is a beast hungry for Elizabeth. I envy her. It is a blessed woman who can instill that kind of passion in a man and I LOVE reading about them!! Politically Incorrect is a safe read, there is no cheating involved and ends in a sweet HEA. There is some drama, this is a book revolving around politics after all. I absolutely loved this book and look forward to reading more by this author. If you enjoy a romance built on a slow burn with explosive rewards, this one will hit the spot.

Synopsis
Sex. Lies. Greed. Power. Scandal. Politics.
Political strategist, Elizabeth McNeal has been called a lot of things throughout her career—bitch being at the top of the list—but she doesn’t let it get to her. She’s bold, she’s blunt, and she takes orders from no one. This is how she’s survived working in a man’s world. She’s the master of diversion, and her specialty is winning an election—no matter the cost.
That is, until she meets her new client, Democratic candidate, Congressman William Baxter. Kind, considerate, insanely handsome, honest, and ten years her junior, he’s a unicorn among politicians. He infuriates her. He challenges her. Most of all, he makes her see past the scandalous world of politics and helps her to discover the heart of the woman inside her.
With sparks flying between them and the election rapidly approaching, the last thing either of them need is to be caught in a compromising position. Some lines are meant to be crossed and some rules broken, but for Elizabeth and Liam is it worth the cost of being politically incorrect?
